USN's spike x300 energy drink gets a new skin, this time targeted at gamers.
Last year USN, based in South Africa, partnered with its countries football club, and released a special version of the spike x300 drink called 'It's the Qhush'. Don't ask me what that means, but the new drink has a fresh can design and new flavour.
But USN have thrown another curve ball, by now releasing a new flavour, this time targeted at the gaming community.
This is a smart move by USN, since the gaming community has been using energy drinks and supplements known as Nootropics for a while now, and some hardcore gamers sometimes dabble in drugs like Adderall, but we won't get into that.
Energy drinks and Nootropic supplements help with focus and alertness, which are vital in fast paced competitive games.
Brands have been quite slow in taking advantage of the gaming and esports market, and have only really caught on in the last year or so.
Most energy drinks contain around 100mg of caffeine, but USN's shames that number by containing 300mg of caffeine. That's almost your entire recommended daily allowance, and equivalent to about 3-4 cups of coffee.
This has pros and cons, in that you can only safely have 1 of these a day, but when you do, you know you'll be at 110% efficiency.
The drink also has other focus supporting ingredients, including B vitamins, Taurine, Carnitine, Ginseng, and Choline Bitartrate.
This is a great looking product, the visuals will resonate really well with gamers, and the highly dosed ingredients will definitely be what they're after.
Unfortunately, it looks like this product is currently only available in South Africa, but if this does go on sale in the European or US markets, I can see it doing really well.
